Welcome to the Denver Nook Office on Tennyson!

I am so happy to be back on Tennyson Street, now in a cutie little office next to the Berkeley Inn. At that size, to me the Denver Nook office officially qualifies as a nook, and I love it!

One of the things I love most about nooks is the intentionality of the space, especially in balancing architecture, design, and functionality. It’s something that I very much enjoy when I’m working with clients and we’re imagining their full home, but in a small space everything is magnified.

Here I’m going to take you on a tour of some of the intentional choices I made in my space. If you or someone you know is buying or selling a house, you should for sure text, call, or email me to set up an appointment in the new space!

My wall color

Color plays a big role in this space. With my bright orange and yellow brand colors on the outside, I wanted the inside to have a very different feel. This shade of blue is called “Moscow Midnight” and I specifically chose it to mask and soften the texture of the walls. (I have tons of tricks like this that I share with clients when we are looking at houses.)

Cool, comfy chairs

I always strive to make my clients feel comfortable and supported while we’re navigating a buying or selling process, and that thinking meant it was very important for me to choose furniture that fit the small space while delivering on comfort. These wood chairs from Blue Dot are sleek enough to fit the space and still really nice to sit in. And for me, I work best in this Eames task chair from Design Within Reach. Again, if you’ve worked with me you know that I’ve got home design ideas like this for anything you encounter!

This Bauhaus poster

First off, I wanted to tie in my exterior brand colors to the interior just a bit, and I feel like this poster does it while also celebrating some concepts that are important to me, like graphic design, architecture, minimalism, and patterns. Having all of that contained in this piece then allows me to play with design and patterns and color in all of the other cool touches in the office.

Lots of plants

You can rarely go wrong putting plants in your space from a design standpoint, but also from a scientific perspective too, as indoor plants have been shown to reduce stress, increase productivity, and even improve your health!

A statement chandelier

I think this might be my favorite part of the office. Playing with scale and allowing this huge Nelson bubble lamp to kind of take over the ceiling space makes it feel very dramatic, but also plays up the coziness of the office at the same time.

Thanks for taking the tour! I’m so happy to be back on the block, and I look forward to showing you even more details at my Open House—save the date for Saturday afternoon April 27!
